February miscellany

Near our house there are some open fields which have been getting rather overgrown with bushes as the sheep which graze them in winter and spring only eat the grass. We were interested to see the other day that tractors were at work on the fields removing the bushes and leveling the ground. We’re not sure if this is for the sheep or some other reason…

We visited family in the UK during February and Chris was able to get some good photos as we came in to land at Nice on the return flight. The peak in the middle of the photo below is the Pic de Courmettes. By the sea to the right is the start of the famous Promenade des Anglais.

Here Nice harbour is on the left with Cap Ferrat in the centre; you can just see Monaco at the extreme right. The snowline on the Alps behind though should be lower at this time of year.

And just to prove we really did visit the UK, here is our younger son and family in the National Portrait gallery.
